About the position

The Associate Developer Full Stack at JetBlue Airways is responsible for end-to-end development, testing, and documentation of sophisticated cloud and web-based applications. This role involves significant research, analysis, and implementation to develop and maintain innovative, scalable solutions that provide value to the business while ensuring operational support as required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, code, debug, and document web and mobile user interface applications in various software languages (e.g., JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, jQuery, Java, Go).
  • Design, write, and implement unit tests and end-to-end tests for UI/JavaScript and Java.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure high quality and consistent coding practices.
  • Partner with Developers and Lead Developers to learn best practices in coding and implementation.
  • Collaborate with data center operations and infrastructure teams for seamless deployments and proper documentation.
  • Participate in development and architecture discussions with other engineers.
  • Review system specifications and discuss project estimates.
  • Ensure quality and performance standards are met across omnichannel customer experiences including kiosks, mobile, and web platforms.
  • Maintain compliance with audit, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to JetBlue IT and business standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline; OR a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four years of related work experience.
  • One year of work experience in a full-stack role, with experience in coding both JavaScript-based applications and backend applications.
  • Demonstrated coding skills in a work sample assessment.
  • Available for moderate overnight travel (up to 35%).
  • Possession of valid travel documents for travel in and out of the United States.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and be available for emergency response on short notice.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.

Nice-to-haves

  • One year of experience with backend object-oriented languages (Java, C#, Go).
  • One year of experience with frontend languages (JavaScript, TypeScript).
  • One year of experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular or React.
  • One year of experience with back-end frameworks such as Spring, JBoss, etc.
  • Experience with RESTful services, JSON, and SOAP-based services.
  • Experience using Git.
  • Knowledge of omnichannel customer experiences across kiosks, mobile, and web platforms.
