About the position

The Associate Digital Copywriter will play a crucial role in supporting key initiatives across the Global Pet Care and Global Home Care business units by creating brand-relevant copy for various platforms. This position involves working on copy requests from inception to completion, ensuring that all content aligns with brand guidelines and legal standards. The role requires collaboration with multiple teams to develop engaging content for e-commerce, paid media, and other digital channels, while also assisting senior team members on larger projects.

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit and maintain all e-commerce product copy to adhere to online data standards and brand guidelines in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Create compelling product description copy that adheres to retailer standards and brand guidelines.
  • Create best-in-class enhanced 'below the fold' content compatible with various retailers' platforms.
  • Work with the design team to develop e-commerce brand store content on retailer platforms like Walmart and Amazon.
  • Work with the eMerchandising team to identify SEM and SEO keywords for writing informative product descriptions.
  • Ensure all content is compliant with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Write and edit paid media content targeting all levels of the funnel, including Meta, Amazon Display, Google Display, Programmatic and Search.
  • Develop engaging media content that drives awareness, consumer interaction, and conversion.
  • Collaborate with Design team members to conceptualize image needs.
  • Adapt copy to specific brand voices and audience segments.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of key social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest.
  • Ensure copy is cohesive with visual design.
  • Assist with miscellaneous copywriting needs, including website redesigns, marketing landing pages, and blog posts.
  • Work with the media team to write SEM content, including display URLs, Google descriptions, and paid ad content.
  • Research industry-related topics to develop content.
  • Ensure all digital content meets internal legal and regulatory standards.
  • Stay current with industry writing, editorial trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Participate in planning and scheduling of project requests.
  • Participate in project kick-off calls and brainstorms.
  • Provide creative input to DCX and Brand teams.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Communications, Public Relations, Advertising or related field.
  • At least 1 year of copywriting experience in digital marketing, advertising, social media, public relations or related field.
  • Strong working creative portfolio demonstrating a focus on digital strategy and execution.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience in SEO and SEM best practices related to keyword research.
  • Strong creative writing, communication and technical writing skills.
  • Strong proofreading skills.
  • Experience writing for different brand/audience voices and/or brand copy guidelines.
  • Ability to research industry-related topics and conduct interviews with key stakeholders.
  • High degree of attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to take constructive criticism and to seek out/act upon feedback.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously without losing focus.
  • High degree of professionalism and customer service mindset.
  • Advanced knowledge of AP Style.
