About the position

At American Express, we are looking for a passionate and talented Associate Product Manager to join our Enterprise Identity team. This role is pivotal in managing and owning our Enterprise Identity Intake Request Process, serving as the primary point of contact for various business units seeking support from Enterprise Identity. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the intake process, ensuring that requests are efficiently processed and either assigned to a product owner or closed. This includes running weekly intake calls to assess and action requests, tracking the status of intake requests, and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to intake volume and efficiency. The Enterprise Identity team plays a crucial role in creating and managing authentication, authorization, and identity management experiences for all digital platforms at American Express, including our website and mobile applications. We are dedicated to ensuring that our customers can safely access their data and service their accounts online while protecting them from unauthorized access. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work with one of the most valuable data sets in the world, identifying insights and actions that can significantly impact our customers and our business. In this role, you will also be responsible for communicating the value of Enterprise Identity to requestors, helping them understand how we can provide effective solutions to their needs. Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for Enterprise Identity Intake process working with a variety of business units who are requesting support from Enterprise Identity.
  • Manage day to day operations of working with requestors to get intake requests in a state in which they can be either assigned to a product owner or closed.
  • Run weekly intake calls to determine how to action intake requests, tracking intake requests statuses or other reporting that shows intake volume or any other KPIs.
  • Work towards developing efficiencies or streamlining processes with Intake.
  • Communicate and bring awareness to requestors about what Enterprise Identity is and how we can provide solutions for them.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience with product management.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving skills; comfortable tackling complex problems and breaking these down into manageable pieces.
  • Highly motivated with strong sense of accountability, initiative, and a 'can-do' attitude.
  • Ability to work autonomously in an ambiguous environment and identify areas of opportunity and deliver solutions.
  • Understanding of building relationships and working with others is vital to success.
  • Customer focused, able to view things from the end users' point of view and approaches problem solving from there.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree; computer science, information systems, engineering or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of Identity, Authentication / Authorization domain is a plus.
