The Network & Acquirer Solutions team (NAS) is the heart of the American Express Enterprise, powering billions of transactions through the global payments processing network that we develop and manage. NAS is unique within the Enterprise. We work across almost every American Express business unit as well as external partners, providers, and key industry stakeholders. We are known to be intellectually curious and problem solvers as we tackle the most imperative initiatives facing the payments industry today, such as securing online transactions and enabling faster, more convenient ways to pay. A role within NAS will challenge you to broaden your skillset and industry acumen while giving you the chance to drive enterprise growth and help deliver on our brand promise of trust, security and service. The Network & Acquirer Capability Delivery team within NAS works to deliver products to meet the evolving demands of global payment networks. A role in the Capability Delivery team will challenge you to broaden your skillset and industry acumen in a collaborative, diverse and inclusive team environment. As an Associate Digital Product Manager, you will help our product team create new products and add additional features to existing products. You will have a hand in product creation from start to finish, whether it's creating mockups, collaborating with engineers, or getting feedback from stakeholders. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and marketers to ensure our products meet customer needs and business goals. You will be expected to not only pick up planned work from the backlog but proactively bring new suggestions and ideas to the team on how to continuously improve our product.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow the Product Manager and collaborate with Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales teams.
  • Gather product feedback, analyze consumer research data, and document product defects.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to product features.
  • Align findings with business goals and coordinate with the Product Team.
  • Prepare project status and risk management reports.
  • Train internal departments on new product features and provide customer support.
  • Develop efficient customer communication and feedback channels.
  • Define product requirements and deliverables with cross-functional partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business management, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Product Development and delivering on a product roadmap, with experience of Agile or other software development methodologies.
  • Prior experience collaborating with internal / external API owners to create new customer experiences and enhancements.
  • Ability to articulate business requirements into user stories and translate technical specifications into business digestible instructions and guidelines.
  • Strong familiarity with tools such as Jira and Rally.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities, workloads, and objectives for themselves and for the development team.
  • Design thinking processes & methodologies to iteratively ideate, identify customer problems and creative innovative solutions to prototype and test.
  • Strong communication skills, experience in storytelling, with the ability to communicate complex, technical issues, and topics, both written and verbal, to multiple audiences including leadership and partner executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and build relationships across enterprise levels.
  • Experience of effectively coordinating activity across geographically and culturally diverse teams, both in-house and with third party partner teams.
  • A keen interest and understanding of research, data, and analytics.
