About the position

As an Associate in Digital Product Operations at American Express, you will play a crucial role in onboarding and certifying new and existing customers to AMEX Payment products. This position involves validating authorization and clearing messages to ensure compliance with AMEX specifications, while also providing insights into network products and capabilities to both internal and external customers. You will be part of a dynamic team that supports the growth of the business by enhancing customer experiences and ensuring efficient processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform certification projects related to the certification of authorization and financial settlement messages for payment products.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal customers to ensure a proactive understanding of the certification and deployment process.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to influence and support certification processes without direct authority.
  • Provide consultancy to external customers regarding certification processes and tools.
  • Support upgrades of tools, processes, and documentation in response to regulatory changes and new product launches.
  • Ensure efficient process controls and governance.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of payment/card industry technology.
  • Preferred knowledge of American Express Network products and authorization/submission processing.
  • Ability to understand payments-related authorization and settlements specifications.
  • Skill in identifying root causes during certification and resolving them independently.
  • Ability to translate technical details to non-technical business partners.
  • Familiarity with the Agile framework and the use of Rally.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive relationship management and collaboration skills across multiple international territories.
  • Flexibility and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills with external partners and internal teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the payments industry.
  • Familiarity with EMV Chip Processing, 3D Secure, Quick Response Code, Mobile Wallets, and Click to Pay.
