About the position
The Associate position within Fidelity Investments' newly formed middle market direct lending strategy offers a unique opportunity to join a growing team focused on private credit investing. This role is integral to the High Income & Alternatives group, which manages over $100 billion in assets. The Associate will engage in various aspects of investment origination, due diligence, and portfolio management, contributing to the firm's efforts in financing middle-market private equity backed businesses.
Responsibilities
- Interface with investment bankers, company management, and private equity sponsors
- Conduct investment screening, including financial modeling and industry research
- Assist in all levels of due diligence on potential investments
- Create investment committee presentations
- Participate in legal documentation and support ongoing portfolio management reviews
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field required, advanced degree a plus
- 1-5 years of experience at a premier leverage lending firm, a top investment banking program, and/or a leading transaction advisory firm
- Advanced financial modeling skills and comfort dealing with a variety of capital structures
- Comfort participating in diligence meetings with senior management, portfolio companies, sponsors, and other investment professionals
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
