About the position

The Associate Director of Admissions Recruitment at the University of North Texas is responsible for overseeing strategic and operational activities related to student recruitment, particularly focusing on the Dallas County region. This bilingual position will collaborate with the Consulate of Mexico and engage with the community to enhance the P-20 education pipeline, aiming to increase undergraduate enrollment. The role involves supervising recruitment staff, developing partnerships with educational institutions, and implementing outreach initiatives to support diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

  • Hire and supervise admissions recruitment staff and student employees.
  • Assist with training and development for Admissions Recruitment and Outreach staff.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with high school and community college partners.
  • Oversee recruitment and outreach activities to assist students and parents through the P-20 pipeline.
  • Collaborate with peers and campus partners to implement new recruitment and outreach activities.
  • Serve as Liaison between the Consulate of Mexico at Dallas and UNT.
  • Work with the Sr. Director to develop strategic initiatives for recruiting, enrolling, and retaining under-served student populations.
  • Oversee bilingual recruitment and outreach initiatives in Spanish.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Five years of professional related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Knowledge of university admissions standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and counseling skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse populations.
  • Ability to supervise, train, and plan work of subordinates.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Skill in using Microsoft Office and other software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish (written and verbal).
