About the position

The Associate Director of Athletic Compliance at Middle Tennessee State University plays a crucial role in ensuring adherence to NCAA regulations across the university's Division I athletic programs. This position involves developing, monitoring, and overseeing compliance with NCAA legislation, as well as providing education and support to coaches and student-athletes regarding compliance matters. The role also includes managing investigations of infractions, overseeing the implementation of compliance programs, and enhancing the student-athlete experience through various initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance in developing and overseeing NCAA compliance for 17 Division I athletic programs.
• Ensure adherence to University, Conference USA, and NCAA legislation in various areas including personnel, amateurism, recruiting, and eligibility.
• Oversee NCAA investigations of infractions and assist with compliance education programs.
• Monitor NCAA documentation required from coaches and serve on the athletic compliance committee.
• Research and interpret NCAA rules for coaches, student-athletes, and university staff.
• Attend NCAA regional rules seminars and Conference USA meetings to stay updated on legislative changes.
• Re-establish and oversee the Minority and Equity Athletic Committees and the NCAA Life Skills program for student-athletes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Three years of progressively responsible Division 1A NCAA administration experience, including two years in collegiate compliance administration or related legal experience.
• Special consideration for experience in athletic compliance administration or graduate assistantship/internship in compliance.

Nice-to-haves

• Five years of athletic or NCAA administrative experience or a related legal degree, with special consideration for NCAA Compliance experience.
