The Associate Director, BioPharma Finance, serves as the principal financial advisor and partner to the BioPharma Business Unit at Foundation Medicine. This role is pivotal in driving the financial planning, reporting, and analysis processes that support the business unit's objectives. The incumbent is responsible for providing comprehensive financial decision support across a wide range of operational and strategic matters that impact the business's financial goals. This includes managing all aspects of financial support, such as financial reporting, forecasting, business analysis, resource allocation, and strategic planning. In this capacity, the Associate Director will lead the preparation of financial plans and forecasts that align with the strategies set forth by the senior management team. They will gather and publish various financial reports and analyses, which encompass historical, current, and forward-looking financial data. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and communicating areas for operational and financial improvement, ensuring that the business unit remains aligned with its strategic direction. The Associate Director will also engage with functional business leaders to provide timely and relevant financial information, enabling sound decision-making. They will develop relationships across the organization, presenting key financial insights during monthly and quarterly business review meetings. Additionally, the position supports long-range planning, resource allocation strategies, and annual operational planning, while driving the quarterly financial forecast process for revenue and sales & marketing. The role also involves preparing executive-level presentations and evaluating the potential impact of industry events on the company's financial models.
