About the position

Located in a historic neighborhood in the nation's capital, Georgetown University offers rigorous academic programs, a global perspective, and a commitment to social justice. The Office of Advancement (OA) is currently in the public phase of the university's most ambitious fundraising campaign to date, called "Called to Be," which has a goal of $3 billion. The Associate Director, Campaign Operations and Planning, will play a crucial role in supporting this campaign by managing the planning and execution of campaign-related work. This position is situated within the Campaign Management and Donor Experience (CMDX) team and will work closely with various partners across OA and the University to ensure the smooth operation of the campaign. The Associate Director will assist the Senior Director, Campaign Operations & Planning, in managing University Strategic Initiative (USI) working groups, internal campaign education programming, and facilitating campaign close activities. This includes maintaining a running progress report and supporting future planning work. The role requires a data-driven mindset, as the individual will enhance operations through the university's Salesforce CRM, GU360. Regular interactions will include collaboration with members from various OA teams such as DATA, Stewardship, Donor Engagement, Development, and more. The Associate Director will also interface with University leadership and faculty, making this a pivotal role in the campaign's success. Daily responsibilities will include managing cross-team stakeholder meetings, setting agendas, collecting materials, facilitating discussions, and tracking next steps. The ideal candidate will have a strong project management background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively. This position is designated as hybrid, requiring in-office presence two days a week, with flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of the University.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining day-to-day operations related to Georgetown's $3B Called to Be campaign.
  • Manage University Strategic Initiative (USI) working groups and internal campaign education programming.
  • Facilitate work related to campaign close activities and maintain a running progress report.
  • Monitor and track progress of campaign priorities to ensure planning and execution remains on schedule.
  • Manage cross-team stakeholder meetings, including setting agendas and tracking next steps.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience, preferably in higher education or non-profit settings.
  • Strong project management and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to differentiate and prioritize work as a self-starter.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of constituents, including volunteers and donors.
  • Willingness to travel, if needed, to support campaign engagement event activities.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to juggle multiple priorities at once.
  • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working in CRMs/Salesforce is preferred.
