About the position

The Associate Director, Clinical Trial Liaison (CTL) at Vertex Pharmaceuticals plays a strategic role in enhancing the Clinical Research site experience by prioritizing customer engagement. This position serves as a vital link between Vertex and Clinical Research sites, focusing on site outreach, education, and enrollment acceleration. The CTL is responsible for understanding clinical research regulations, leading teams, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration across various therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a professional representative of Vertex in interactions with clinical trial investigators and academic institutions.
• Identify new clinical trial sites and conduct outreach to therapeutic area networks, focusing on diverse investigators.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in study execution and provide feedback to study teams.
• Participate in country/site selection activities and represent regional insights in collaboration with Medical Affairs.
• Conduct specialized training for site staff on investigational products and study protocols.
• Define, monitor, and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for site performance.
• Stay updated on regulations and industry trends to maintain compliance in clinical trials.
• Develop and manage relationships with external sites and therapeutic area networks.
• May have line management oversight or functional oversight of teams or individuals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Typically requires 8 years of experience in Clinical Development.
• 2 years of supervisory or management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven track record of managing long-term professional relationships with clinical sites.
• Good working knowledge of ICH, FDA, EU-CTR, IRB/IEC regulations and guidelines.
• Experience with Clinical Site start-up documents.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Vertex Therapeutic Areas.
• Fluency in languages other than English.
