About the position

The Associate Director, Consumer Cross-Cultural Marketing Lead Strategist at Lilly is responsible for leading cross-cultural marketing capabilities within the Consumer Marketing organization. This role involves developing best practices, managing agency relationships, and integrating cultural insights into marketing strategies across various brands. The position operates in an agile team environment, allowing for flexibility in addressing consumer needs and business priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop consistent approaches and operational processes for cross-cultural marketing.
  • Establish and update CCM archetypes and scorecard metrics for performance reporting.
  • Lead agency relationships with cross-cultural agencies and consultants.
  • Evaluate new partners/vendors for consumer-first strategy implementation.
  • Lead foundational cultural insights development and training for marketers.
  • Develop a vision and roadmap for Next-Generation CCM capabilities.
  • Assess brand opportunities for new products or indications requiring CCM support.
  • Drive improvements in language translation processes and audience diversification.
  • Lead cross-cultural strategy development and integration within brand strategies.
  • Identify key cultural consumer insights and ensure they are reflected in brand plans.
  • Manage comprehensive cross-cultural projects and programs, ensuring adherence to timelines.
  • Foster productive agency relationships and establish collaboration expectations.
  • Deliver clear cross-cultural marketing results and optimize execution for business goals.
  • Monitor performance of cross-cultural tactics and develop measurement plans.
  • Supervise cross-cultural marketing budgets and recommend trade-offs as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years of multi-cultural marketing experience
  • Experience leading development of integrated marketing plans
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Prior agency management or in-agency experience
  • Strong project management and budget management skills
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Effective leadership and communication skills

  • MBA
  • Demonstrated cultural understanding and experience with African American and/or Hispanic market insights
  • Experience with Veeva Vault Promo Mats asset management
