About the position

Sumitomo Pharma Co., Ltd. is a global pharmaceutical company based in Japan with key operations in the U.S., Canada, and Europe, focused on addressing patient needs in various therapeutic areas including oncology, urology, women's health, rare diseases, psychiatry & neurology, and cell & gene therapies. The Associate Director, Consumer Marketing will play a pivotal role in driving the success of ORGOVYX, a key product in our portfolio. This position requires a motivated and highly collaborative marketer who is patient-centric and talented in executing consumer campaigns. The role involves leading the development of impactful consumer/patient campaigns, messaging, and key patient resources aimed at increasing brand awareness and educating patients about ORGOVYX. As part of the commercial team, the Associate Director will work closely with various cross-functional partners to ensure the effective execution of marketing strategies. This includes managing the ORGOVYX Patient Ambassador Program, developing patient education materials, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. The position is remote but requires periodic travel for collaboration with key partners. The Associate Director will report to the Senior Director of Omnichannel and Consumer Marketing and will be responsible for utilizing insights and data to optimize marketing tactics and monitor performance against key metrics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, with a minimum of 8-12 years of relevant experience, including direct-to-consumer (DTC) and patient marketing. Experience in oncology and co-promotion or alliance partnerships is preferred. This role is critical in ensuring that our marketing efforts are aligned with patient needs and that we are effectively communicating the value of ORGOVYX to our target audience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of consumer/patient campaign for ORGOVYX.
  • Translate brand strategy into patient-friendly content across key touchpoints throughout the patient journey.
  • Lead the execution and rollout of patient materials for HCP offices, nurses, specialty pharmacies, and in-office dispensing pharmacies.
  • Manage the ORGOVYX Patient Ambassador Program and content featuring patient stories.
  • Cultivate strong relationships and drive collaboration with all cross-functional partners including Omnichannel, Patient Services, Market Access Marketing, HCP Marketing, Sales Training, Sales, Regulatory, Legal, Medical, Analytics, Operations, and Market Research.
  • Work closely with the Omnichannel Marketer to ensure the pull-through of digital and social channels.
  • Partner with analytics and market research to understand patient and market insights, optimize marketing tactics, and monitor performance against key metrics.
  • Manage relationships with agencies to produce deliverables on strategy, within timelines, on budget, and with measurable outcomes.
  • Ensure all marketing activities comply with legal and regulatory standards, coordinating closely with the promotional review committee.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic and tactical marketing brand plans.
  • Oversee management of patient starter programs and develop resources that support patient education.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry (6-8 years with a Master's degree), including marketing roles of increasing responsibility.
  • Consumer DTC and/or patient marketing experience required.
  • Prior oncology experience preferred.
  • Co-promotion or alliance experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel as needed for limited in-person collaboration sessions.
