About the position

The Associate Director, Corporate Counsel, Commercialization and Market Access at Jazz Pharmaceuticals is a key member of the legal team, responsible for providing comprehensive legal support for various brands and business functions. This role involves advising on a wide range of legal issues related to FDA regulations, healthcare laws, and marketing strategies, ensuring compliance while supporting the company's strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support for one or more brands and/or franchises and related business functions.
  • Serve as the primary legal representative on promotional materials review committee and medical materials review committee.
  • Provide solutions-oriented legal advice on marketing and medical affairs strategies, promotional tactics, and FDA labeling.
  • Work closely with the Intellectual Property and Access to Medicines legal team to support regulatory and commercialization strategies.
  • Identify potential legal risks and communicate compliant solutions that align with company objectives.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of complex legal issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Guide colleagues on appropriate relationships with healthcare professionals and government entities.
  • Apply legal expertise to manage risks on contractual matters, including review and negotiation of agreements.
  • Advise stakeholders on the interpretation of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Create and deliver training on legal topics to business partners and team members.
  • Drive efficiency and effectiveness of legal advice and processes to meet business needs.
  • Lead special projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Stay informed of new laws and industry trends to identify potential impacts.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of combined experience in-house and/or with a law firm.
  • Experience with a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing the pharmaceutical industry, including FDA regulations and the Anti-Kickback Statute.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and strategic with excellent judgment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a diverse set of individuals.
  • Demonstrated leadership behaviors and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver effective presentations and training.
