About the position

The Associate Director of Corporate Event Sales at MGM Resorts International plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and execution of sales strategies aimed at maximizing revenue and optimizing event bookings. This position is integral to building a robust client base and enhancing the visibility of MGM Resorts Event Productions (MREP) in the market. The Associate Director will work closely with the Director of Account Management to communicate high-level goals and directions both internally to various properties and corporate departments, as well as externally to vendors and partners. This collaborative approach is essential for fostering relationships that yield business opportunities for MREP. In the day-to-day operations, the Associate Director will oversee business development efforts, ensuring that opportunities are identified, relationships are nurtured, and MREP maintains an active presence in the market. This includes participating in the sales process by gathering customer data, understanding their needs, collaborating with internal teams to devise solutions, and effectively pitching business proposals. The role also involves leading and mentoring business development professionals, serving as a visible manager and spokesperson for MREP at both internal and external functions. Additionally, the Associate Director will be responsible for creating analytics and tracking data to demonstrate business growth and assess trends in events. This analytical approach will help in making informed decisions and adjustments to strategies as needed. The position also requires attending property-level functions and site visits to educate sales, catering, and convention services teams on MREP's capabilities, ensuring they are well-equipped to promote these offerings to potential customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, design, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of prior relevant experience in progressive sales.

  • 5+ years of prior relevant experience in progressive sales.
  • Experience in organizing and producing events.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading sales teams and driving sales initiatives.
