About the position

The Associate Director - Creative & Emerging Media position within the Nebraska Athletics department is a pivotal role that focuses on enhancing the visibility and engagement of the Husker brand through innovative digital media strategies. This department is responsible for a wide array of functions including social media strategy, management, digital content creation, and print design. The successful candidate will lead creative direction across various media formats, including social media graphics, recruiting graphics, video production and editing, posters, schedule cards, media guide covers, and promotional materials. This role requires a blend of creative insight, strategic thinking, and execution skills, as well as the ability to oversee and mentor student staff involved in these projects. In this position, the Associate Director will collaborate with a team to manage select social media channels for Husker Athletics. This collaborative effort necessitates strong critical thinking, high-level communication, and teamwork skills. Responsibilities

  • Provide creative direction for all aspects of digital media including social media graphics, recruiting graphics, video production and editing, and promotional materials.
  • Manage select social media channels within Husker Athletics, collaborating with team members to enhance engagement and visibility.
  • Oversee and mentor student staff involved in creative projects, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to brand standards.
  • Develop and execute strategies for digital content creation that align with the goals of the Nebraska Athletics department.
  • Utilize graphic design skills to produce a variety of materials such as posters, schedule cards, and media guide covers.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment on creative projects and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • One year of experience in a creative environment with a social media team.
  • Extensive graphic design experience in both digital and print applications.
  • Proficiency in email, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
