About the position

The Associate Director of Creative Services at The Joint Commission is responsible for enhancing the organization's reputation and brand through a consistent and strong visual identity across various media. This role involves collaboration with senior leadership and managing a team to ensure high-quality creative outputs that align with the organization's mission and branding goals.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes a brand and visual identity consistent with brand positioning, considering The Joint Commission's global presence.
  • Leads development of multimedia products to support mission and commercial activities, including fact sheets, brochures, infographics, videos, and more.
  • Provides art direction for all visual projects to ensure consistency of brand identity standards and high-quality work.
  • Presents design concepts, collects feedback, and adapts projects to meet internal and external expectations.
  • Supervises a team of in-house and contracted designers, photographers, and videographers, managing project pipelines to meet deadlines.
  • Maintains a network of external vendors to support projects, negotiating costs and schedules to meet budgets and deadlines.
  • Fosters collaboration and communication across the Creative Services team and with peers in the Brand/Communications division.
  • Supervises Creative Services staff to high performance, including coaching and professional development.
  • Leverages metrics and data to inform innovation and changes in strategy or approach.
  • Assumes other duties and special assignments as assigned by the Chief Brand/Communications Officer.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Art, Graphic Design, Videography, Multimedia or related field.
  • Seven to 10 years of experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervising staff.
  • Excellent visual, communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Significant experience with creative tools including Adobe Creative Cloud, film/video editing, and digital media.
  • Experience presenting design concepts to senior executive audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with global audiences and healthcare industry experience preferred.
