About the position

The Associate Director, Digital Governance and Solutions is responsible for managing and enhancing IEEE's digital presence across various platforms. This role focuses on user experience, accessibility, compliance, and governance best practices, ensuring a positive digital user experience through effective management of IEEE.org and other digital assets. The incumbent will lead a team of technical solutionists, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive strategic digital initiatives to improve operational efficiency and user engagement.

Responsibilities

• Manage and enhance IEEE's cross-platform digital presence through user experience and governance best practices.
• Oversee technical management and maintenance of IEEE.org, ensuring compliance and best practices are followed.
• Lead a team of technical solutionists, providing direction and guidance on digital governance and solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement digital solutions that improve operations and user experience.
• Drive the adoption of digital best practices, including accessibility standards and user experience principles.
• Evaluate tools and applications for their fit within the IEEE ecosystem and recommend improvements.
• Manage vendor relations and negotiate to support the goals of the Experience Design team.
• Support the Director, Experience Design in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for assigned activities.
• Oversee the development and implementation of new website areas and tools for digital and marketing use.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, web design, software engineering, project management, or a related field.
• 7-10 years of work experience in web/internet development, information technology, or human-computer interaction.
• Project or product management certification is required.
• High proficiency in managing complex cross-functional initiatives with excellent organizational skills.
• Strong understanding of user experience practices and accessibility principles.
• Experience with enterprise web content management solutions such as Adobe Experience Manager and WordPress.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's or other advanced degree in a related field.
• Supervisory and/or team project management experience.
• Familiarity with customizing WordPress themes and using plugins.
• Experience with form handlers such as Wufoo or Marketo forms.
