About the position

The Associate Director, Digital Marketing & Artist Development at Sony Music Entertainment is responsible for managing and evolving strategic marketing campaigns for a roster of artists. This role involves project management, budget oversight, and collaboration with various teams to create and implement innovative digital marketing strategies that drive revenue and enhance artist visibility.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a project manager for an assigned artist roster, developing strategic timelines and marketing plans in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Conduct planning meetings to outline specific agendas and identify next steps.
  • Create, develop, and execute innovative digital marketing campaigns for assigned artists.
  • Grow and engage social network communities, tracking and analyzing social media data and marketing results.
  • Communicate goals and strategies with internal and external teams to maintain expectations.
  • Liaise with the Creative Services team to ensure visual tools support brand goals.
  • Create marketing budgets and provide oversight for artist releases, meeting profitability targets.
  • Implement new technologies and marketing tactics to maximize music streaming and consumption.
  • Oversee the development of websites and content strategies for web, social, and mobile.
  • Drive CRM strategy for assigned artists, optimizing digital marketing initiatives through data segmentation and targeting.
  • Conceptualize contests and sweeps with the support of the Coordinator, Digital Marketing & Artist Development.
  • Develop and execute measurable digital advertising campaigns to reach target audiences.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in marketing with a focus on developing innovative campaigns in a creative industry.
  • Experience working collaboratively and leading teams under pressure.
  • Strong passion for digital innovation and relevant technology trends in music marketing.
  • Hands-on experience managing social media platforms and building online communities.
  • Familiarity with CRM/e-mail newsletter platforms like Salesforce and MailChimp.
  • Understanding of e-commerce, D2C, and music streaming business.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
  • Strong professional presence and ability to maintain constructive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly with high-profile clients and partners.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, and travel as needed.
