About the position

The Associate Director, Digital Marketing will lead in the creation, execution, and evaluation of email communication and multi-channel marketing campaigns on behalf of Army West Point Athletic Association Inc. (AWPAA) under the oversight of the Assistant Athletics Director, Revenue Strategy. This position will execute cross-functional work by managing digital-based marketing campaigns, creating visual assets with an emphasis on graphic design, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and delivering results inclusive of revenue generation, fan engagement, and customer and donor retention. In this role, the Associate Director will develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies, overseeing multiple ticketed sports for initiatives that correspond with the digital marketing area's roles. The individual will spearhead the creation and implementation of year-round marketing plans aimed at driving revenue generation, enhancing fan engagement, and fostering customer and donor retention. This includes leading email marketing communications, directing paid social and digital advertising campaigns, and managing website and mobile initiatives. The Associate Director will also be responsible for designing and developing visual assets to meet the demands of external stakeholders, ensuring all visual assets align with the established brand standards of Army West Point. Additionally, the role involves monitoring industry trends to optimize resource utilization and scale operations, managing organizational websites, and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for multiple ticketed sports.
  • Spearhead the creation and implementation of year-round marketing plans aimed at driving revenue generation, enhancing fan engagement, and fostering customer and donor retention.
  • Lead email marketing communications including content calendar creation, segmentation, copywriting, deliverability, and KPI tracking.
  • Direct campaign planning for paid social and digital advertising, including segmentation, copywriting, deliverability, and KPI tracking.
  • Oversee campaign planning for website and mobile initiatives, ensuring effective segmentation, copywriting, deliverability, and KPI tracking.
  • Coordinate with external agencies such as Paciolan, Legends, and Learfield as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain regular communication protocols with various internal departments including Ticket Office, Fan Experience, and Athletic Communications.
  • Lead the creation of graphic and visual creative assets to meet external stakeholder demands.
  • Conduct ongoing research into digital marketing best practices to optimize resource utilization and scale operations.
  • Manage ongoing development of organizational websites to support revenue generation and fan engagement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience in digital marketing, particularly in email marketing and multi-channel campaigns.
  • Strong graphic design skills and experience in creating visual assets.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and analytics.
