About the position

Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking an Associate Director, Data Analytics Technical Product Manager to join the Abiomed IT team in Danvers, MA. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our data operations, ensuring that we create fundamental data standards around data collection, storage, management, accessibility, and usability. You will identify and fill gaps in the data life-cycle procedures by documenting them and partnering with the Abiomed IT Manager Architect to document the flow of data across all Abiomed products and platforms. As part of your responsibilities, you will define standards to ensure that data is accurate, complete, consistent, reliable, relevant, and current. You will implement data validation processes to guarantee that data is precise and comprehensive, which includes verifying errors, inconsistencies, and missing data. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing data cleansing processes to eliminate or rectify inaccurate, incomplete, or duplicated data, as well as monitoring data accuracy to ensure that the organization's data remains reliable for decision-making and optimizing operations. In terms of business value through data analytics, you will partner with business stakeholders to identify data needs and drive data-driven decision-making. You will drive data innovation and analytics initiatives to uncover business insights and opportunities, moderate enterprise data demand by bridging the gap between business and technology, and define the product/platform vision, strategy, and OKRs for the applications being delivered. Your role will also involve establishing technology roadmaps to achieve efficient and effective delivery of business and customer value for assigned products/platforms. You will help Product Owners prioritize their backlogs, manage product/platform constraints, and resolve cross-team dependencies while managing demand intake as required. Working closely with the Product Owner and Engineer roles, you will manage risk in the backlog and define the standards for the product/platform, including overall design and features, development standards, release management processes and schedules, testing/validation, compliance, and master data structures. Furthermore, you will drive the selection of product/platform solution options and work with the Lead Engineer to assess tech elements of the solution prior to user testing and to balance tech debt. In the realm of data governance and security, you will implement data governance frameworks and monitor data quality and integrity, ensuring compliance with data regulations and applying data privacy policies as needed. You will partner with the ISRM teams to ensure that data across Abiomed meets J&J security standards and that sensitive data is protected.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, and business intelligence development with 5+ years in a managerial role.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to articulate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience of driving data-driven decision-making and business insights.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data management, and data analytics.
  • Knowledge of data security, privacy, and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Ability to lead a team of IT Data & Analytics Technical Product Owners.
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating into a product vision through deep expertise in product development, engineering, and UX.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Azure, SQL, Power BI, Tableau and ETL processes.
  • Experience building data access and visualization tools.
  • Ability to function as part of a broader organizational team with big picture orientation and solid attention to detail.
  • Collaboration skills and the ability to build strong relationships with partners.
  • A results and performance driven attitude with solid sense of accountability and drive to get results.
  • Experience with system development lifecycle methodology.
  • Experience leading technical conversations, workshops and workstreams to consensus conclusions/actions.
  • Proven ability to understand and articulate business requirements, direction, and initiatives, including ability to balance requirements from an enterprise, sector and franchise/region level.
  • Ability to translate business strategy into technology strategy within a complex and matrixed environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to translate and transform complex topics into concise architectural diagrams and presentations.
  • Strong ability to build and manage relationships at various levels, both inside and outside an organization.
  • Experience in the MedTech industry with FDA, ISO, and IEC requirements and guidelines including risk analysis and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of healthcare processes, data and terminology.
  • Experience working in regulated environment (e.g. GxP, HIPAA, GDPR ...)

Nice-to-haves

  • A Master's degree in Information Technology or a relevant discipline is preferred.
  • Proven work experience in a senior data leadership role.
