About the position

The Associate Director of DMD Marketing at Avidity Biosciences is a pivotal role responsible for executing marketing strategies to ensure the commercial success of the DMD product portfolio. This position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive product launches, enhance market penetration, and increase brand awareness, particularly within the biotechnology and rare disease sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the DMD brand strategy through effective execution of branded and unbranded tactics across key marketing channels.
  • Ensure all efforts meet or surpass brand objectives.
  • Partner effectively with clinical, regulatory, medical affairs, and sales teams to ensure alignment of marketing strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including patient advocacy groups, healthcare professionals, and key opinion leaders.
  • Oversee the development and execution of marketing specific activities related to medical conventions, exhibits, and trade shows.
  • Partner with market research, medical, and sales teams to ensure customer insights inform marketing strategies.
  • Collaborate with the digital marketing team to ensure strategic alignment across all marketing plans and initiatives.
  • Leverage digital tools and analytics to optimize marketing efforts and enhance customer engagement.
  • Effectively manage agency partners to ensure strong alignment with marketing strategy and project plans.
  • Manage budget for key marketing tactics, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing activities.
  • Ensure all marketing activities comply with regulatory and legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, focusing on rare diseases or specialty markets.
  • Experience with successful product launches and brand management in a highly regulated environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in pharmaceutical marketing.

Nice-to-haves

  • An advanced degree (MBA, MS) is a plus.
  • Previous experience with DMD or neuromuscular disorders is a plus.
  • Previous experience with infused medicines and understanding of buy and bill dynamics is a plus.
