The Associate Director, Editorial Content, plays a crucial role in the Philanthropy Marketing & Communications Division at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of major donor publications, which are essential for raising over $400 million annually. The Associate Director will manage the creation, compilation, and deployment of compelling content across various platforms, ensuring that messaging is consistent and impactful. The role requires a strong commitment to the Institute's core values of Impact, Excellence, Compassion & Respect, and Discovery, and involves collaboration across the organization to enhance the overall effectiveness of fundraising efforts. The Associate Director will serve as the primary editor for the Division's donor publications, including the quarterly Impact magazine, and will be responsible for managing the editorial calendar, soliciting story ideas, and collaborating with fundraising units to ensure accurate donor coverage. This position also involves overseeing a team of writers, providing training, and ensuring high-quality content production. The Associate Director will work closely with senior leadership to incorporate high-level components into publications and will be tasked with researching and writing stories that highlight the contributions of donors and faculty. In addition to managing print publications, the Associate Director will oversee the digital presence of the Impact magazine, ensuring timely updates and effective communication through the website and email announcements. The role requires a strategic approach to content management, including the development of processes to capture and share compelling stories that reflect the impact of donor generosity. The Associate Director will also be responsible for maintaining the Division's editorial Style Guide and ensuring that all publications reflect the Institute's commitment to inclusion, diversity, and equity. This position is remote with occasional on-site requirements, and the onboarding process includes comprehensive training and hands-on learning experiences. The Associate Director will report to the Assistant Vice President of Philanthropy Communications and will have one direct report, the Senior Writer. The role is designed for a self-starter who can work independently while collaborating with various stakeholders throughout the Institute.
