About the position

The Associate Director, Global Medical Communications, Immunology plays a crucial role in the Global Medical Affairs team at Takeda. This position is responsible for leading the strategic planning and execution of comprehensive medical communications plans that align with the global medical strategy for assigned assets. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure effective communication and dissemination of scientific information.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of integrated congress plans, including oversight of content for the Medical Affairs booth and creation of FAQs.
  • Generate scientific content for internal and external medical communications-related activities, such as scientific slide decks and digital assets.
  • Serve as the medical approver during the formal review process for medical materials.
  • Develop materials for use by field medical teams and evaluate speakers for medical communication events.
  • Ensure all medical communication initiatives remain on strategy, within budget, and are executed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with the Group Lead to monitor performance of goals and delivery of medical communications plans.
  • Oversee budget, financial forecasting, and vendor management for assigned assets.

Requirements

  • Advanced medical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, RN, MS) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry for candidates with doctoral degrees, or 7 years for candidates with master's degrees.
  • Experience in medical communications strategy, planning, and execution required.
  • Prior experience in immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, especially in dermatology and/or gastrointestinal disease, is preferred.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to inspire teamwork.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with international regulatory and legal guidelines regarding medical communication strategy and execution is a plus.
