About the position

The Associate Director, Global Oncology Antibody Drug Conjugate (ADC) Marketing -- Scientific Strategy at Merck is a pivotal role focused on leading the marketing strategy for innovative cancer treatments. This position involves strategic scientific leadership in the development and execution of scientific engagement and congress planning, specifically for a third-generation antibody-drug conjugate currently in late-stage development. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and maximize the impact of scientific narratives and competitive intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Drive asset-focused scientific leader identification, engagement, and strategy for a third-generation antibody-drug conjugate.
  • Optimize asset approach to scientific leader identification and engagement.
  • Develop and implement congress coverage planning strategies to maximize scientific impact and engagement at key medical congresses.
  • Work collaboratively with disease teams and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and aligned approach.
  • Support the scientific narrative development for the third-generation antibody-drug conjugate.
  • Lead the evolution of asset-level scientific narratives.
  • Drive development of indication-focused scientific narratives for sac-TMT in partnership with disease teams and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure scientific leader and other relevant insights are obtained and used to inform development.
  • Lead competitive intelligence strategy and planning for a third-generation antibody-drug conjugate.
  • Partner with competitive intelligence, disease teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders to optimize competitive intelligence planning, monitoring, and reporting across a wide range of competitors and disease areas.
  • Drive asset-focused competitive intelligence workshops and partner with asset teams on disease-focused competitive planning workshops and activities.
  • Optimize and execute internal communications regarding key data and events.
  • Lead competitive communications in close alignment with competitive intelligence and disease team stakeholders.
  • Support planning for internal videos and congress-related leadership preparation, ensuring alignment with scientific messaging and strategic objectives for sac-TMT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in Marketing, Scientific Strategy Engagement, Marketing/field support, or Sales Management role.
  • Customer-oriented, results-driven, analytical problem solver, continuous learner.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan and execute complex initiatives aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated excellence in collaboration with large extended teams and functional experts.
  • Scientific foundation and acumen.

Nice-to-haves

  • Deep understanding of oncology and immuno-oncology therapeutic areas, with a strong knowledge of emerging trends and scientific advancements in the field.
