About the position

The Associate Director of Global Trade Compliance at Organon is responsible for developing and implementing the company's trade compliance program, overseeing import and export activities across regions. This role involves managing a team of Senior Specialists, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and collaborating with regional trade compliance leads. The position requires strategic oversight of customs issues and generating awareness of new regulations that may impact the business. It is a global remote position with limited international travel.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable government agencies and regulations for existing products, new launches, legal entity integration, and network changes.
  • Lead the Trade Compliance Community of Practice, ensuring a close connection between global, regional, and local trade compliance activities.
  • Design and advise on improvements for trade compliance policies, operating procedures, and internal controls.
  • Identify trade compliance risks within the supply chain and develop mitigation plans.
  • Partner with external logistics service providers and customs brokers to measure brokerage performance and drive improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze evolving trade laws and regulations and their impact on global strategy and operations.
  • Support regions in Global Trade Compliance Audit and ensure corrective actions are implemented in response to findings.
  • Communicate new regulations and programs to stakeholders to facilitate appropriate actions or decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in International Trade, Global Tax, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
  • At least 10 years of trade compliance, customs, and/or other agency experience.
  • At least 5 years of people management experience.
  • Experience with program management and driving improvement.
  • ERP environment experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Familiarity with export order completion.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Experience communicating with cross-border teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a government-regulated environment.
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, and/or Health Care industry.
  • Total Quality Management or ISO certification.
  • FTA Experience.
  • Secondary Language(s) proficiency.
