Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. Raytheon has an opportunity for an Associate Director, Global Trade Digital Technology. This role reports directly to the Director and Assistant General Counsel, Global Trade Program Office and provides organizational leadership to a team of Global Trade professionals. The Associate Director, Global Trade Digital Technology role is responsible for supporting the Digital Technology function at Raytheon to ensure compliance with export controls (including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)), sanctions, and the RTX and Raytheon policies and procedures. This role manages risk while ensuring a standard program design and ultimately set the mission, vision, and strategy of the Raytheon Global Trade Digital Technology portfolio globally. This role requires collaboration within Raytheon Global Trade and with other Raytheon functions to embed requirements and will represent Raytheon on Corporate Digital Technology initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on global laws and regulations pertaining to the export controls and sanctions regulations with regards to Software and Digital Technology tools
  • Lead a team in conducting reviews and providing advice and guidance on the deployment of Digital Technology tools to protect and control access to data controlled under the ITAR, EAR, or other export control regulations
  • Assist in training for Raytheon Digital Technology and Cybersecurity security personnel on export controls, sanctions, and corporate policies and procedures
  • Provide dedicated, ongoing support and design guidance for major digital initiatives
  • Support ongoing evaluation of the efficacy of controls, identifying gaps, ensuring remediation and continually improving metrics, as well as occasionally supporting investigations and disclosures
  • Participate in and lead councils involving Raytheon Strategic Business Units
  • Partner with Digital Technology functional leadership while providing necessary guidance, promoting ethical behavior to meet business expectations
  • Participate in committees of Global Trade professionals from across RTX operating across a complex regulatory and systems landscape

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years' experience
  • Work experience in roles that ensure compliance with the ITAR, EAR, and U.S. Sanctions regulations in a digital technology environment
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience analyzing export controls and compliance aspects of digital systems and cybersecurity technology
  • Familiarity with EAR encryption controls
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with various levels of RTX and Raytheon leadership and to collaborate with business and digital technology personnel
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and step back to look at the big picture of what is needed for the department and investigate other opportunities through innovation to accomplish goals
  • Engineering or Digital Technology related degrees
