About the position
The Associate Director, Head of Mammalian Expression Technologies (MET) CoE at GSK is a senior leadership role focused on advancing the company's capabilities in mammalian expression systems. This position is pivotal in driving innovation and efficiency in the development of biopharmaceuticals, ensuring that GSK remains at the forefront of biopharma technology. The role involves strategic oversight, team leadership, and collaboration across various departments to enhance the overall productivity and effectiveness of the MET Center of Excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Mammalian Expression Technologies team to develop and optimize expression systems for biopharmaceutical production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and methodologies into existing workflows.
- Drive strategic initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the MET CoE.
- Mentor and develop team members to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in biopharmaceutical development.
Requirements
- Proven experience in mammalian cell culture and expression systems in a biopharmaceutical context.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing high-performing teams.
- Expertise in bioprocess development and optimization.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.
- PhD in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
