About the position

The Associate Director of Compliance will play a crucial role in providing compliance advice and support across the organization. This position will focus on specific functional areas based on the individual's experience and prior responsibilities, ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, and ethical standards in interactions with healthcare professionals. The role involves leading compliance auditing and monitoring functions, managing compliance-related data, and collaborating with various internal stakeholders to enhance compliance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key subject matter expert in supporting the compliance advisory needs of the organization.
  • Advise on appropriate compliance interactions and policy guidelines, including fair market value, advisory board participation, speaker programs, grants, and corporate contributions.
  • Lead the Compliance Auditing and Monitoring function, including building, conducting, and executing compliance audits or projects.
  • Oversee and manage the process and capture of timely, accurate, and consistent data for HCP payment disclosure filings and reports.
  • Partner with internal clients to validate data and prepare reports for transparency data attestation by the Chief Compliance Officer.
  • Manage and engage in continuous improvement, review, drafting, and project management for Compliance-specific policies and guidelines.
  • Complete required compliance screening and other anti-bribery-anti-corruption activities.
  • Serve as an accountability partner for managing and dispatching Compliance-training materials and content.
  • Oversee and manage compliance monitoring activities in conjunction with the Chief Compliance Officer.
  • Serve as principal Compliance reviewer for various committees, including the Corporate Affairs Grant Review Committee.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in pharmaceutical/life science & health law compliance is required.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life science related matters.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to draft and review documents and provide compliance guidance.
  • Ability to form strong working relationships with all levels of management and employees.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility.

Nice-to-haves

  • JD degree helpful but not required.
  • Experience with compliance auditing, monitoring, and compliance data systems, and privacy (CCPA and GDPR) helpful.
