About the position

The Associate Director, Incentive Compensation Design & Analytics for the Rare Disease Business Unit at Amgen plays a crucial role in optimizing sales incentive plans and contests to align with the organization's strategic objectives. This position involves leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of incentive compensation strategies that motivate the sales team and drive commercial success. The role requires collaboration with senior commercial leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure effective administration and operations of incentive compensation plans.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior commercial leaders regarding incentive compensation plan and contest design.
  • Lead and develop the incentive compensation design strategy in collaboration with senior sales and brand leadership.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of incentive compensation plans using data analysis and feedback.
  • Coordinate with a 3rd party team for the administration and operations of incentive compensation plans and contests.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing incentive compensation design and processes.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree and 3 years of sales & marketing operations and/or data analytics experience, or
  • Master's degree and 5 years of sales & marketing operations and/or data analytics experience, or
  • Bachelor's degree and 7 years of sales & marketing operations and/or data analytics experience, or
  • Associate's degree and 12 years of sales & marketing operations and/or data analytics experience, or
  • High school diploma / GED and 14 years of sales & marketing operations and/or data analytics experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing incentive compensation plans.
  • 6+ years of sales leadership or sales operations experience in a large and complex organization.
  • Ability to drive and influence incentive compensation design strategy to deliver sales force results.
  • Strong knowledge of incentive compensation principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
