About the position

The Associate Director, Incentive Compensation Design & Analytics for the Rare Disease Business Unit at Amgen plays a crucial role in driving commercial success through the design and implementation of sales incentive plans. This position ensures that compensation strategies align with the organization's objectives and culture while motivating the sales team to achieve desired outcomes. The role involves collaboration with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to enhance the effectiveness of incentive compensation plans and oversee their administration through third-party teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of incentive compensation plans for the Rare Disease Business Unit.
  • Serve as the primary contact for senior commercial leaders regarding incentive compensation plan design and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with senior sales and brand leadership to develop incentive compensation design strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of incentive compensation plans using data analysis and feedback.
  • Coordinate with third-party teams for the administration and operations of incentive compensation plans, including payout calculations and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing incentive compensation design and processes.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree and 3 years of sales & marketing operations and/or data analytics experience, or
  • Master's degree and 5 years of sales & marketing operations and/or data analytics experience, or
  • Bachelor's degree and 7 years of sales & marketing operations and/or data analytics experience, or
  • Associate's degree and 12 years of sales & marketing operations and/or data analytics experience, or
  • High school diploma / GED and 14 years of sales & marketing operations and/or data analytics experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing incentive compensation plans.
  • 6+ years of sales leadership or sales operations experience in a large and complex organization.
  • Strong knowledge of incentive compensation principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
