About the position

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking an Associate Director, Incentive Compensation (Oncology) based in Horsham, PA. This role is pivotal in partnering with Sales and Marketing Senior Leadership to define and develop a compensation program that aligns with the organization's strategic plan and drives incremental sales growth. The Associate Director will effectively integrate key business drivers into compensation plan designs to support both short-term and long-term objectives, ensuring compliance with various Global Laws, Regulations, and Health Care Compliance requirements, including the overarching Johnson & Johnson Sales Compensation Playbook requirements. In this position, the Associate Director will serve as an internal subject matter expert on compensation topics, recommending cost-effective programs that enhance competitive positioning. The role involves leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of therapeutic area-specific sales incentive programs that align with budget and forecast, supporting the business objectives of the franchise(s). Additionally, the Associate Director will develop and integrate marketing and field sales communication campaigns to create program awareness and drive incremental sales performance through field motivation. The Associate Director will oversee the design, development, communication, and maintenance of all field reports that support the execution of the incentive program. They will also manage relevant field sales inquiries related to the Incentive Compensation Plan in a timely manner and supervise direct reports in the development, implementation, and maintenance of compensation programs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert on compensation topics, recommending cost-effective programs that drive competitive positioning.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of therapeutic area-specific sales incentive programs aligned to budget and forecast.
  • Develop and integrate marketing and field sales communication campaigns to create program awareness and drive incremental sales performance.
  • Oversee the design, development, communication, and maintenance of all field reports that support execution of the incentive program.
  • Manage relevant field sales inquiries related to the Incentive Compensation Plan in a timely manner.
  • Supervise direct reports in the development, implementation, and maintenance of compensation programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required; Master's preferred.
  • 5 years of experience working in Incentive Compensation is required.
  • Strong communication skills presenting to Senior Leadership (Presidents, Vice Presidents, Senior Directors) is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills; detail-oriented with the ability to manage complexity is required.
  • Adept in maneuvering within a matrixed organization and building productive collaborative relationships is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • 7 years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, including areas such as field sales, marketing, analytics, finance, etc.
  • Proficient understanding of the pharmaceutical sales process is preferred.
  • Familiarity with syndicated data sources (e.g., IMS/IQVIA) and data warehouse environments is preferred.
  • Competency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Data Visualization platforms is preferred.
  • Experience managing vendors is preferred.
  • Previous people management experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Oncology market is preferred.
