About the position

The Associate Director, IT Operations - DevSecOps at Wolters Kluwer is responsible for transforming application operations towards a DevSecOps model, utilizing AI-augmented Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to enhance efficiency, resilience, and innovation. This role involves managing application operations within the Health portfolio, promoting collaboration across business units, and ensuring the integration of agile methodologies and cloud-focused operations. The position requires strategic leadership, relationship building, and a deep understanding of IT strategies to support business demands.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, vision, and direction to the IT Operations and GBS Infrastructure Portfolio Management.
• Work with CTOs and IT leaders to develop overall IT strategy aligned with business initiatives.
• Develop productive relationships with business leaders to influence application capabilities.
• Serve as a change agent to modernize applications in alignment with WK DevSecOps practices.
• Provide architecture and engineering advisory for IT Operations as needed.
• Define and enhance methodologies for infrastructure and application lifecycle management.
• Ensure application processes comply with corporate policies and standards.
• Lead incident resolution for supported applications.
• Manage application group personnel and develop their skills.
• Work with product management to implement application product roadmaps and metrics.
• Manage relationships with vendors and service providers for cost-effective solutions.
• Conduct stakeholder satisfaction surveys and implement action plans for improvement.
• Implement operational readiness processes for application portfolios.
• Support GBS in creating and implementing a strategy for Global IT Services.
• Develop senior leadership for Infrastructure Portfolio Management mission and strategies.
• Communicate objectives and concepts internally and externally.
• Ensure adequate resources for Infrastructure Portfolio Management roles across IT domains.
• Arbitrate disputes over responsibility allocations.
• Champion awareness of Infrastructure Portfolio Management processes among IT senior management.
• Liaise with other process owners for integration and collaboration.
• Monitor critical success factors and key performance indicators for service management processes.
• Develop continuous improvement measurements for Infrastructure Portfolio Management processes.
• Build partnerships with IT team leaders to determine training requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of broad Information Technology experience.
• Proven ability to build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects with competing demands.
• Experience modernizing production environments for higher resilience and availability.
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions.
• Experience as a trusted advisor to business unit leadership and application development leads.
• Experience with application and datacenter modernization projects.
• Proficiency in process formulation and communication.
• Strong analytical and business management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex, dynamic, and multicultural environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Experience with ITIL and ITSM processes.
