About the position

The Associate Director of Laboratories and Business Operations in Drug Product Development at Bristol-Myers Squibb is responsible for leading the development and execution of externalization strategies for the drug product portfolio. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of innovation and technology in drug product development, while also managing business operations support and monitoring key metrics. The position requires a strong focus on risk management, project management, and team leadership, with an emphasis on improving workflows and supporting strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, execution, and monitoring of externalization strategy for DPD's drug product portfolio.
  • Manage key DPD-wide business operations support, including monitoring and reporting on key related metrics.
  • Serve as a technical/scientific liaison for externalization activities supportive of CMC development.
  • Apply a risk-based approach to identify and communicate risks related to externalized projects.
  • Interface professionally with senior executives and staff, handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Anticipate key issues and implement action plans based on changing priorities.
  • Lead DPD Sourcing Strategies in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and improve workflows based on data insights and propose changes to enable decisions.
  • Represent DPD on PD level externalization governance.
  • Assume departmental responsibilities for assigned projects.

Requirements

  • B.S. with 15+ years, M.S. with 12+ years, or Ph.D. with 8+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in balancing resource requirements within projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability to a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
