About the position

The Associate Director of Law School Admissions at The George Washington University Law School plays a crucial role in enhancing the school's recruitment strategies and evaluating admissions applications. This position is responsible for representing the Law School both on and off campus, contributing to strategic initiatives, analyzing recruitment data, and making recommendations regarding admissions decisions. The role also involves leading special programs, managing the student ambassador program, and overseeing communications related to admissions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of recruitment strategies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of admissions and recruitment initiatives.
  • Review admissions applications and make recommendations regarding admissions decisions.
  • Contribute to and execute strategic recruitment initiatives.
  • Analyze recruitment data to inform decision-making.
  • Holistically evaluate applications and determine eligibility for special admissions programs.
  • Present recommendations to final review authority.
  • Plan and execute on-campus and off-campus events, including information sessions and law school fairs.
  • Lead special programs such as preview days and other prospective/admitted student events.
  • Manage the Law School's volunteer student ambassador program, including recruitment and training.
  • Review and edit Admissions web pages and develop outreach materials.
  • Liaise with alumni admission ambassadors for outreach programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 5 years of relevant professional experience, or a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs. boxes.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Nice-to-haves

  • JD preferred.
  • Previous experience in graduate/professional admissions in higher education.
  • Excellent customer service, advising, and recruitment skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency with technology and related applications (e.g., LSAC's Unite database, Emma, Drupal, Banner, Concur).
  • Experience in event planning/management.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
