About the position

The Associate Director of Marketing and Communications for the Master of Science in Law (MSL) program at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy. This role involves creating content, managing digital marketing efforts, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance the visibility and recruitment efforts of the MSL program. The position requires strong project management skills, creativity, and the ability to analyze data to inform marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements an overall marketing and communications strategy for the MSL program.
  • Writes and publishes content for various platforms.
  • Connects with the MSL team to identify potential storylines, events, and news, overseeing the editorial/content calendar.
  • Manages the MSL webpages and the MSL 360 blog with a focus on SEO.
  • Leads both paid and organic social media strategy, content development, engagement, campaigns, and advertising.
  • Creates email campaigns tailored to key stakeholders.
  • Oversees work of contracted marketing vendors and leads project management on collaborative work.
  • Assists in the creation and execution of an admissions outreach strategy.
  • Conducts research and benchmarking to enhance knowledge of best practices and aid with competitive analysis.
  • Uses data gathering and analysis to assess the success of marketing and communications tactics.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing and communications.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with and contribute to a team.
  • Ability to work independently with a positive attitude.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of content strategy and management.
  • Experience with evaluating digital media, social media, SEO, and paid search.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in higher education marketing and communications.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing and communications.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree focused on marketing, communications, writing, journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience using content management systems (e.g., Cascade) including basic HTML writing and editing.
  • Social media campaign management experience.
  • Experience with Google Ads and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce and Slate).
