About the position

The Associate Director of Marketing/Communications at the University of Florida is responsible for leading the planning, strategy, and execution of marketing and communications initiatives for the Phillips Center. This role involves developing comprehensive marketing plans to promote performances, enhance audience engagement, and implement branding strategies. The position requires a strong focus on digital marketing, project management, and media relations, while collaborating with various departments and external organizations to maximize visibility and attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as chief planner and strategist for external marketing, public relations, and branding initiatives.
  • Develop plans to advertise and promote performances and organization, maximizing attendance and engagement.
  • Leverage digital advertising to create a robust digital strategy for marketing UFPA performances.
  • Analyze market, competition, pricing, and product to target audiences effectively for each performance.
  • Direct the design of all print marketing materials and oversee radio and television advertising production.
  • Act as the primary project manager within the marketing team, utilizing project management software.
  • Negotiate advertising and trade relationships with media outlets and serve as a liaison for artist promotions.
  • Direct website and electronic communications initiatives, managing content and workflow.
  • Provide content and support for communications related to fundraising and administrative initiatives.
  • Manage external relations with community constituents and serve as a liaison to various organizations.
  • Oversee and manage other positions within the marketing area, including graphic designers and interns.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and four years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree in appropriate areas of specialization and six years of relevant experience.
