About the position

The Associate Director of Marketing/Communications at the University of Florida is responsible for leading the planning, strategy, and execution of marketing and communications initiatives. This role focuses on enhancing external marketing, public relations, and branding efforts to maximize attendance and engagement for UFPA performances. The position requires a deep understanding of digital advertising and project management to effectively implement marketing strategies and collaborate with various departments and external organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as chief planner and strategist for external marketing, public relations, and branding initiatives.
  • Develop plans to advertise and promote performances and organization, maximizing attendance and engagement while implementing audience diversification strategy.
  • Leverage a deep understanding of digital advertising to develop a robust digital strategy for marketing and advertising UFPA performances.
  • Develop concepts, vision, parameters, and messages for the UFPA performance season.
  • Analyze market, competition, pricing, and product to target audiences effectively for each performance.
  • Alter marketing plans throughout the year based on ticket sales and budget status.
  • Determine effective methods and timing for campaigns across various platforms (CPC, social media, print, radio, television, email marketing, etc.).
  • Direct the design of all print marketing materials including ads, program books, window displays, and posters.
  • Create and direct radio and television advertising by writing scripts and overseeing production.
  • Act as the primary project manager within the marketing team, utilizing project management software for various marketing initiatives.
  • Negotiate annual advertising and trade relationships with media outlets.
  • Serve as liaison for vendor requests for artist interviews and promotions.
  • Direct website and electronic communications initiatives, managing content and updates as needed.
  • Provide content and support for communications related to fundraising efforts and administrative initiatives.
  • Serve as primary departmental contact with University Relations office to promote across campus.
  • Manage external relations with community constituents and serve as UFPA's liaison to various organizations.
  • Oversee and manage other positions within the marketing area, including Graphic Designer and Marketing Communications Specialist.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of relevant experience.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $75,000 - $85,000 per year.
