About the position

The Associate Director, Marketing Excellence is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering marketing training curriculum and content for U.S. Commercial Marketers. The role focuses on enhancing digital literacy among marketers to create customer-centric, personalized marketing experiences. This position collaborates with various marketing managers and leaders across AbbVie's portfolio to diagnose needs and develop solutions that support skill development in marketing competencies, aiming to build a world-class marketing organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across franchises to gain stakeholder input and align with business strategies to enhance the effectiveness of U.S. Commercial Marketers.
  • Diagnose needs and develop commercial training and development strategies with strategic business planning skills.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to develop partnerships across all organizational levels.
  • Lead innovative training experiences and approaches for skill development and knowledge acquisition.
  • Manage marketing onboarding initiatives, including project planning, relationship building, content co-creation, and program execution.
  • Integrate industry best practices and business trends into Marketing Excellence skills development plans.
  • Manage cross-functional teams and external partners through large projects or initiatives.
  • Provide digital consultation to deliver engaging digital learning and manage multimedia virtual events.
  • Conduct needs analysis and training assessments to determine optimal digital training strategies.
  • Create learning objectives and evaluations, leveraging analytics to measure learning effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in marketing or communications.
  • 7+ years of marketing or digital marketing experience required, with a preference for experience in omnichannel marketing, sales, and/or commercial training.
  • 3+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of instructional design methodologies and various computer programs, including Adobe Creative Suite, Power BI & FORMS, and media development software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Familiarity with digital learning content strategies and multimedia event production.
