The Associate Director of the Master of Marketing Experiential Learning at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience of students in the program. The Associate Director will work closely with the Managing Director of Experiential Learning to enhance the quality of student learning and client satisfaction through hands-on consulting projects. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including recruiting students, teaching courses in Business Fundamentals and Project Management, coaching student teams, and managing consulting engagements. The Associate Director will also be involved in business development efforts to secure high-quality consulting projects that provide valuable learning experiences for students. The Master of Marketing program combines rigorous academic training with practical, real-world experience, allowing students to engage in marketing-focused consulting projects. These projects cover a wide range of topics, including Marketing Strategy, Brand Management, Consumer Insights, Digital Marketing, and Marketing Analytics. The Associate Director will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students, ensuring they develop the necessary skills to succeed in their careers. This position requires a commitment to fostering a collaborative learning environment and empowering students to take ownership of their projects. The effectiveness of the Associate Director will be measured by the quality of student learning outcomes and the satisfaction of clients involved in the consulting projects. In addition to teaching and mentoring, the Associate Director will assist in developing and maintaining productive client relationships, negotiating project fees, and managing the overall operations of the experiential learning program. This includes overseeing budgets, accounting, and marketing efforts, as well as supporting other Carlson School activities. The Associate Director will also serve on departmental and college committees as needed, contributing to the broader mission of the Carlson School of Management and the University of Minnesota.
