About the position

The Associate Director of Member Supervision in the Office of the Chief of Staff at FINRA is a pivotal role that involves ideating and leading the development of multiple cross-departmental programs aimed at enhancing the integration and engagement of Member Supervision staff. This position requires the management of several large and complex programs that are critical to supporting the Member Supervision staff. The Associate Director will oversee a team of individual contributors who are responsible for executing and managing various programs and events, including the MS Essentials and the Regulatory Program Leadership Summit. The role may involve technical aspects and necessitates a deep understanding of Member Supervision programs, operations, and interactions. In this role, the Associate Director will lead the development, implementation, and management of initiatives that originate within the Member Supervision Office of the Chief of Staff or are directed by the Member Supervision Executive Vice President (EVP). The position requires collaboration with regulatory program leadership, senior management, and FINRA's People Solutions team to enhance the integration of new hires into Member Supervision. This includes managing programs such as MS Essentials, the Regulatory Program Leadership Summit, and the MS Personal Acclimation Lead (PAL) new hire program. The Associate Director will also amplify employee development resources, maintain recognition programs, and create strategies for identifying leadership opportunities for staff at all levels. The Associate Director will act as a strategic liaison with People Solutions to refine and enhance existing programs, aiming to increase staff engagement and retention. Utilizing program expertise, the Associate Director will identify needs for new or enhanced programs and develop strategies for successful implementation in partnership with key stakeholders. The role also involves managing a team responsible for multiple complex, cross-program initiatives, ensuring that roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and understood to meet project deliverables. Effective communication with MS Senior Leadership and other stakeholders is essential to coordinate activities and share important information. The Associate Director will also serve as an escalation point for issues and will work collaboratively with functional owners to mitigate or resolve any challenges that may arise during project implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and management of initiatives within the Member Supervision Office of the Chief of Staff.
  • Partner with regulatory program leadership and senior management to enhance new hire integration and employee development resources.
  • Act as a strategic liaison with People Solutions to refine existing programs to increase staff engagement and retention.
  • Identify needs for new or enhanced programs and develop strategies for successful implementation.
  • Manage a team responsible for multiple complex, cross-program initiatives and ensure clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Communicate project status and establish clear lines of communication with MS Senior Leadership and stakeholders.
  • Act as an issue escalation point and mitigate business/policy issues that threaten project implementation.
  • Ensure high departmental standards of excellence in executing programming duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required; major in Business Administration, Communications, or related fields preferred.
  • Experience in creating and executing programs that integrate employees into a company.
  • Experience in planning and facilitating meetings and conferences.
  • Minimum seven years of directly related experience in positions of increasing responsibilities, including medium-to-large scale program management experience.
  • Advanced Program Management skills and organizational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Member Supervision structure, programs, and operations.
