About the position

The Associate Director of Athletic Development - Donor Relations plays a crucial role in providing philanthropic support for Creighton Athletics. This position is primarily responsible for coordinating all athletic events, ensuring that they are executed smoothly and effectively. The Associate Director will collaborate closely with the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Development to enhance engagement and support for the Athletic Department, both locally and nationally. This role requires working in tandem with athletics staff, university personnel, and various teams to manage events while providing direct support for all donor and fundraising activities associated with Athletics. Key responsibilities include planning, executing, and staffing athletic fundraising events such as the Leaders for Life, Hall of Fame Banquet, Champions Dinner, and the Athletic Director's Tip-Off Dinner. The Associate Director will be involved in developing invite lists, coordinating event seating, and managing invitations and follow-ups. Additionally, this position will focus on donor cultivation, hospitality, stewardship, and recognition programs, which may occur concurrently with athletic contests at Creighton or at opposing venues. The Associate Director will also coordinate donor stewardship and cultivation opportunities on both local and national levels, serving as the primary liaison between the Athletic Department and University donor relations/alumni relations. Furthermore, this role will involve working with Athletic compliance to coordinate scholarship awarding on an annual basis.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the AVP of Athletic Development to plan, execute and/or staff athletic fundraising events.
  • Develop and manage invite lists for events, including seating arrangements and invitation coordination.
  • Collaborate with Creighton Athletics on donor cultivation, hospitality, stewardship, and recognition programs.
  • Coordinate donor stewardship and cultivation opportunities locally and nationally.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Athletic Department and University donor relations/alumni relations.
  • Work with Athletic compliance to coordinate annual scholarship awarding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of demonstrated development experience is required.
  • Experience with coordinating events is preferred.
  • Experience working in customer relations is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrate understanding of how Athletic Departments run in a University setting.
  • Experience working with student-athletes, coaches, and athletic department personnel.
  • Familiarity with Advance, Reeher or comparable fundraising database.
  • Familiarity with Archtics, Advantage, Paciolin or comparable ticketing and donor database.
