About the position

The Associate Director of Athletics Stewardship and Engagement Communication at Georgetown University is responsible for designing and executing communication strategies to enhance engagement and stewardship efforts within the Athletics Department. This role involves managing various communication pieces, overseeing stewardship activities, and implementing social media strategies to foster relationships with alumni, parents, and fans, ultimately supporting the growth of Georgetown Athletics.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Athletics Development stewardship including weekly thank you communications and endowment reports.
  • Manage strategic communication planning for 70+ athletics engagement events per fiscal year, including creating event invitations.
  • Implement a social media strategy for engagement activities, including graphic creation and follow-up communications.
  • Engage alumni, parents, fans, and friends to grow support for Georgetown Athletics across 30 sport communities.
  • Work with Athletics Development and Engagement teams to strategize engagement event invitation lists and stewardship of attendees.
  • Communicate with coaches and senior sports administrators to design and implement strategic communications and engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with university partners to plan strategic engagement in major markets and communicate deployment of athletics administration.
  • Manage Athletic Department volunteer boards and assist club presidents in communicating engagement events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum two years of communication strategy experience
  • Digital communication and stewardship experience within an athletics or alumni-related realm is preferred
  • Digital design experience in creating graphics for event invitations and social media
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines while managing several projects simultaneously
  • Motivational skills are highly desired
  • Fundraising knowledge preferred
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to adjust to changing needs of the Athletic Department
  • Ability to work on several projects and high-level events simultaneously with minimal supervision
