About the position

The Associate Director of Stewardship and Engagement Communication at Georgetown University is responsible for designing and executing communication strategies for Athletics engagement and stewardship efforts. This role involves managing various communication pieces, overseeing stewardship activities, and engaging with alumni, parents, and fans to enhance support for Georgetown Athletics. The position requires collaboration with multiple stakeholders within the Athletics Department and the broader university community to ensure effective communication and engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Athletics Development stewardship including weekly thank you notes and endowment reports.
  • Manage strategic communication planning for 70+ athletics engagement events per fiscal year.
  • Implement a social media strategy for engagement activities, including graphic creation and follow-up communications.
  • Engage alumni, parents, fans, and friends to grow support for Georgetown Athletics.
  • Work with Athletics Development and Engagement teams to strategize event invitation lists and stewardship of attendees.
  • Communicate with coaches and senior sports administrators to design and implement strategic communications.
  • Plan strategic engagement in Georgetown University's major markets and coordinate with university partners.
  • Manage Athletic Department volunteer boards and assist club presidents with engagement events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum two years communication strategy experience
  • Digital communication and stewardship experience within an athletics or alumni related realm is preferred
  • Digital design experience in creating graphics for event invitations and social media
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines while managing several projects at once
  • Motivational skills are highly desired
  • Fundraising knowledge preferred
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to adjust to changing needs
  • Ability to work on several projects and high-level events simultaneously with minimal supervision
