About the position

The Associate Director of Community Day Services is responsible for overseeing a community-based program aimed at helping young adults with developmental disabilities integrate into their communities. This role involves planning and implementing daily activities, developing curriculum, and advocating for the needs of participants while supervising a small team of Direct Support Professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead a program of 30-40 young adults in creating meaningful experiences in their day.
• Plan daily social, recreational, and learning activities and experiences in the local community.
• Develop curriculum and invite guest speakers based on the interests of the attendees.
• Advocate for each person's desires and needs, ensuring their voice is heard.
• Supervise 3-4 staff/Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), including hiring, training, and mentoring.
• Oversee plans and implementation strategies to help each person meet their individual outcomes.
• Work with the transportation department on obtaining Pace tickets and different types of vehicle inspections/repairs.
• Learn and know the HSMS system for individuals and attendance purposes.
• Run monthly drills such as Fire, Tornado, and water temperature checks.
• Complete monthly calendars, activity committee notes, and all monthly reports in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university in a human services related field
• 1 year experience working with people who have a developmental disability
• Basic user knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.), and/or other PC applications
• Possess a valid driver's license
