About the position

The Associate Director of Creative Services at Children's National Hospital will play a pivotal role in the Creative Services team, reporting directly to the Creative Director. This position is essential for supporting the production of various print, digital, and web assets tailored to meet the marketing needs of the organization. The Associate Director will oversee project management for the development of materials, ensuring that all outputs align with the hospital's branding and messaging strategies. This includes managing the creation of collateral, web assets, advertising creative, social media graphics, and videography, all aimed at delivering a consistent brand experience across all platforms. In this role, the Associate Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and executing design and production projects that resonate with the target audience. The position requires collaboration with leadership and other team members to ensure an integrated approach to marketing, communications, and digital activities that align with the organization's strategic goals. The Associate Director will also lead creative concept development, manage artwork, and direct freelance designers and photographers for special projects, ensuring that all creative outputs meet the highest standards of quality and effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in multimedia design, with a minimum of six years of experience in graphic design, multimedia, and video production. They will be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints. The role demands a team-oriented individual who can inspire creativity and foster collaboration among team members, while also being receptive to feedback and new ideas. The Associate Director will also be responsible for staying updated on current design trends and innovations, ensuring that the hospital's creative outputs remain relevant and engaging.

Responsibilities

  • Support the production of print, digital, and web assets for marketing needs.
  • Provide project management oversight for the development of materials.
  • Ensure a consistent brand experience for all audiences through effective design and production.
  • Develop, implement, and execute organizational design and production projects.
  • Collaborate with leadership and team members for integrated marketing and communications efforts.
  • Create design concepts for visual elements representing Children's National Hospital.
  • Lead all aspects of creative development for assigned projects.
  • Edit and create multimedia elements including graphics, video, and audio.
  • Manage artwork and direct freelance designers and photographers for special projects.
  • Present creative concepts to internal and external clients as needed.
  • Recommend ways to expand existing collateral and photo/video products to increase engagement.
  • Conduct team brainstorming sessions and design discussions with Marcomm colleagues.
  • Inspire creativity to improve content presentation and narrative delivery.
  • Supervise multiple vendors and budgets to meet target goals and costs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an art-related field or a minimum of six years in graphic design, multimedia/digital/video design and development.
  • 2-4 years of experience with different types of multimedia (video/graphics/audio).
  • Minimum 6 years experience working on content development for print, video, web, and other multimedia solutions.
  • Creative and technical skills to effectively design content across multiple creative platforms.
  • Ability to provide quality assurance of all deliverables and maintain consistent brand identity across all media.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, on time and within budget.
  • Functional to advanced knowledge in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere/After Effects/Photoshop/Illustrator/Audition).

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of current and emerging design and multimedia trends.
  • Experience in managing project timelines and deliverables to improve efficiencies.
