Job Title Associate Director of Enrollment Marketing and Communications for National Recruitment Summary The Associate Director of Enrollment Marketing and Communications for National Recruitment provides leadership on the implementation, management, and evaluation of communication strategies across different platforms in support of the university's goals for undergraduate enrollment. This includes printed materials, emails, text messages, and web content aimed at potential undergraduate students and other relevant stakeholders at various stages of the recruitment process. Responsibilities encompass research, segmentation, content development, implementation, and performance analysis. Reporting to the Senior Director of Enrollment Marketing and Communications, the individual also acts as a project manager for all enrollment marketing and communication efforts and ensures that the messaging aligns with enrollment objectives across all media channels. The Associate Director also supports undergraduate recruitment efforts in a secondary or expansion market, collaborating with a regional counterpart to drive enrollment and enhance the university's national reputation. This position works remotely from a home office, ideally in the Chicago metropolitan area. Duties and Responsibilities * Under the direction of the Senior Director of Enrollment Marketing and Communications, manage and execute a comprehensive (first-year, transfer, parent, counselor, etc.) enrollment communication plan across print, email, SMS, web, and other external vendor sites. * Serve as lead copywriter for enrollment communications in accordance with editorial standards, university policies and branding guidelines, and industry best practices. Conceptualizes and authors original copy to tell John Carroll University's story passionately, professionally, and persuasively. * Plan and author messages to nonâÂÂstudent constituents, such as parents/families, high school counselors, communityâÂÂbased and college access organizations, independent educational consultants, community college transfer advisors, alumni, etc. * Serve as the main reviewer on all enrollment marketing collateral to ensure accuracy of content and consistency in messaging strategy. Leads in gaining necessary internal approvals. * Utilize Slate CRM to set up Deliver mailings. Assists with the dayâÂÂtoâÂÂday setup of email/SMS messages, recipient lists, liquid markup/conditional logic, and A/B testing for all mailings in Technolutions Slate CRM, including adâÂÂhoc messages, process/deadline reminders, and form communications. * Assist with maintenance of Slate landing pages and portals. * Support the upcoming redesign of the admission pages of the JCU website. Oversee, maintain, and optimize all undergraduate admission pages. * Collaborate with admission, student financial services and marketing staff on comprehensive project management timelines to ensure deliverables are met by established deadlines. * Create, respond, and manage communications and marketing needs with key admission vendors (e.g. Appily, College Board, Encoura, Gecko, Intersect, NextGrad, Niche, SCOIR, etc.) * Analyze data to assess the effectiveness of communications efforts and deliverability of email campaigns; monitors and researches other institutions' marketing approaches and industryâÂÂspecific trends. * Build, maintain, and manage a comprehensive communication sequence document/database, and project management documents/database. * Support the planning, execution, and evaluation of the undergraduate recruitment efforts in the Chicagoland area and beyond. * Work with prospective undergraduate students throughout the enrollment process, focusing primarily on guiding applicants to the university through the admission review, scholarship, and financial aid processes up to attendance at new student orientation. * Represent John Carroll University via a variety of events within the territory, including information sessions and accepted student programming for students and families; counselor programs; high school visits; college fairs; admissions panels; and other off-campus events such as meals and one-on-one sessions. Territory travel may include extended hours and evening and weekend work during peak times. * Develop relationships with high school counselors, independent counselors, and community-based organizations within the territory, helping them to understand admissions policies and learn about opportunities for their students. * Plan and execute in-market events including Admitted Student Receptions, Send-offs, Counselor programs, and application generation events. * Participate in enrollment-related activities/events as needed. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English or other related field of study. * 3 or more years of relevant experience with a track record of achieving project goals. * Outstanding communication and team-building skills. * Strong project management skills and the ability to serve as technical lead on communication projects. * Demonstrated ability to thrive in an independent and self-directed role in a competitive recruiting environment. * Be able to operate a motor vehicle, have a valid driver's license, and successfully complete a motor vehicle records check and standard background checks. * Ability to travel as needed (costs reimbursed in accordance with budget policies). May include national travel. * Ability to work occasional and assigned evening and weekend hours in order to support University enrollment events. * Strong understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging and creating an inclusive campus environment. * Interest in understanding and supporting John Carroll's mission to inspire individuals to excel in learning, leadership, and service in the region and in the world. Preferred Qualifications * 4 or more years of relevant experience. * Master's Degree in a relevant field. * Prior experience in a higher education environment. * Knowledge of Technolutions Slate CRM Normal Work Location, Hours and Conditions University core business hours are generally 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. However this position may be required work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on department operations. Physical Requirements Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other office locations and to verbally communicate to exchange information. Hours Full Time FLSA Exempt (Salary) Compensation & Benefits Starting salary for this role will be $55,000 - $67,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
