About the position

The Associate Director of Housing Operations at Texas Christian University is responsible for leading and supervising housing operations, including housing utilization, budget management, and communication strategies. This role involves overseeing room assignments, collaborating with campus partners, and ensuring effective housing administration. The Associate Director serves as a key member of the Housing and Residence Life Leadership Team, providing guidance and support to staff while reporting directly to the Director.

Responsibilities

  • Provides senior leadership to housing operational components, including housing utilization, enrollment management, budgets, assignment processes, and housekeeping operations.
  • Examines and analyzes occupancy demand, projections, and university enrollment trends for reporting and management decisions.
  • Serves as a contact for students and stakeholders regarding room assignments, making decisions on special issues and enforcing compliance guidelines.
  • Develops and implements housing licenses and agreements, collaborating with campus partners on housing contracts.
  • Oversees administrative functions associated with revenue-producing beds, including revenue forecasting and budget oversight.
  • Leads housing administration software and systems integration, ensuring data integrity and storage.
  • Handles appeals for contract cancellations and damage charges, monitoring and reporting on all appeals.
  • Communicates housing data to university departments, generating housing options based on needs and occupancy trends.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, and developing growth opportunities.
  • Coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees while planning and appraising job results.
  • Provides on-call support during peak assignment seasons, such as room changes and move-in/move-out processes.
  • Collaborates with department leadership to enhance the residential experience.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4 or more years of experience in residence life and housing or student affairs with a focus on housing administration, budgets, and operations.
  • Valid driver's license.
