About the position

The Associate Director of Marketing & Communications at Wayne State University's College of Nursing is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction in marketing and communication efforts. Responsibilities

  • Provide marketing and communication leadership and strategic direction for the College of Nursing.
  • Manage and control day-to-day office activities to create a collaborative working environment.
  • Lead public relations efforts to increase visibility of the College of Nursing.
  • Oversee and coordinate all marketing and communication budget activities.
  • Supervise part-time support personnel, including hiring, disciplining, and training.
  • Review and edit existing promotional materials for marketing effectiveness.
  • Create communications in various media that reflect the brand of the College of Nursing.
  • Collaborate with the Multimedia Specialist to enhance the College's online presence.
  • Coordinate communications projects with vendors and contractors.
  • Participate in special projects, research, and assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in marketing and communications within higher education.
  • Proven track record in developing and administering a marketing/communications program.
  • Strong management skills and ability to set and implement a self-directed agenda.
  • Excellent organizational leadership and planning skills.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to interact sensitively with diverse communities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in higher education marketing management.
  • Knowledge of HTML and web content management.
