About the position

The Associate Director of Project Management and Operations at Verizon will lead the VCG Customer Communications Team, overseeing the delivery of outbound and transactional marketing campaigns. This role involves managing a significant portfolio of work, ensuring timely and high-quality communication delivery, and collaborating with leadership to prioritize tasks. The position requires a balance of strategic planning and adaptability to manage change effectively while guiding a team towards achieving operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Providing oversight and accountability for quality, on-time delivery of all campaigns and projects within the portfolio.
  • Leading the inter and intra-team process and workflow management, both in terms of ongoing execution and optimization.
  • Participating in the portfolio/intake process to maximize alignment on priorities, scope, and deadlines.
  • Leading efforts involving change management (scope adjustment, date adjustment, reprioritization, etc.).
  • Coordinating cross-team resourcing activities.
  • Providing career development and guidance and administrative support for direct reports.

Requirements

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Experience and extensive knowledge of Marketing Operations and Program/Project Management at an enterprise scale.
  • Experience managing external partners and agencies.
  • Experience and knowledge of project management tools (e.g. JIRA).
  • Experience working with Workfront and Smartsheets.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and operate under tight timeframes.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP certification or related certifications.
  • Knowledge of digital Marketing, Creative, and Content Development fundamentals.
  • Experience with commercial marketing software and/or tools.
  • Collaborating skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and under pressure of very stringent deadlines.
